A little note from the Designer:
Any of these cottages can be used for whatever you want to use them for. If you like the exterior look of the Sunwood cottage and it fits with your home style better but want an artist studio instead of a home office, this would work as well. I just gave the cottages some names and descriptions to explain how I came up with them and to give you options to choose from. Use these cute little cottage as you want to and personalize them for your own personal needs and wishes. They are universal in design and everyone of them will make you smile.

If you would like to contact us please call 401-423-3400 and ask for John one of our architects or e-mail us at plans@rondimauroarchitects.com.

WHY DID WE START TO OFFER STOCK PLANS TO THE PUBLIC?

It was simple, we feel that everyone deserves a great home no matter what their budget is.

We saw a need and followed the advice of our customers. After several conversations with realtors, clients, friends, and family, we realized that everyone wants and deserves a great home. By this I mean a home that functions greats, feel good to live in, touches your soul and looks beautiful in the process. Up until now, these types of homes were reserved only for the wealthy, a group of individuals that could hire an Architect and pay $30-50,000 for a set of plans.

The rest of us were left to search in plan books and on the internet where there is a huge selection but they all tend to look the same and do not seem to have the right character or elegance that we were looking for. We felt that there needed to be something in between the two, a place where a customer could go and find an Architect inspired design at a cost that they could afford. This is how we started this new division.

We also realized that people want a home that is designed by a practicing residential Architect because they design homes for a living and know how spaces work, how the house goes to together structurally, and knows what type of materials and massing work for their particular area or style.

Our style is New England Homes. Our Firm was located on famous Bellevue Avenue for eleven years and after restoring many Newport mansions, we learned how period homes go together. We recently moved to Jamestown Rhode Island, a small island between Newport and the mainland and this is where we designed these new cottages for you. Jamestown is a quaint coastal village with a rich Architectural history.

Our cottages are elegant, quaint, relaxed and very detailed; front porches to sit on, open floor plans to entertain and relax and our homes are designed to have lots of natural sunlight. They seem to truly represent American values and reflect period designs from the old west farm houses to the Shingle style Estates that dot the coastline.

They have a universal appeal no matter where you live. Whether you live in Oregon, Kansas or Nantucket, you will find a design that fits your lifestyle and personality.

We started with one home plan called the SCONSET, a three-bedroom home on one floor with future expansion on the second for growing families. Being one floor, it appealed to young couples, single people, families and empty nesters wanting to retire but wanting an elegant smaller home. This was a huge success, so we knew that we were on to something.

I then took a six-month sabbatical to design several more buildings. I ended up with 30 quaint structures, all with their own unique character. These buildings range from a 48 s.f potting shed to a 3400 s. f. four bedroom home. They are the cutest little buildings and include potting sheds, guest cottages, artist studios, yoga retreats, home offices to several full size homes. (and at the same time being sensitive to people budgets). Today we are proud to offer you our 50 designs and hope that you find one that fits your personality and taste.

Below we have broken our designs into five categories.

Category 1 - Potting Sheds: The potting sheds are a series of tiny, cute little structures that will enhance any garden or backyard.

Category 2 - Garages/Barns: The garages and barns are a series of one, two and three-car garages, so you can have a really attractive garage at an economical price. We also have a six-stall horse barn for you horse lovers.

Category 3 - Small Pleasures: The small pleasure buildings are cute little structures that can be used for a variety of purposes. They work well for guest cottages, yoga rooms, home offices, art studios and places to sit and just “BE.” These are really cute and have been the most popular. We even have a Men’s Club building, a place where the guys can go to have a beer, play pool or watch a football game.

Category 4 - Cozy Cottages: The cozy cottages are a series of small attractive homes that are under 2,000 s.f. They are one to three-bedroom homes and are perfect for that get-away home you have always wanted to escape to. They are also great for a single person or young couple just starting a life together.

Category 5 - Elegant Homes: The elegant homes are a series of larger three and four-bedroom homes that work for a young married couple ready to grow, a family with children, and a mature couple who want single story living but want space for their kids and grandkids to return home for a visit.

All of these designs were generated from 25 years of experience in the industry. We have taken everything that we have learned about designing homes for clients and implemented them into these designs. We honestly feel like you have the best of everything in a attractive package. We hope that you find a design that you enjoy and that fits your personality. I really appreciate your taking the time to look at our designs and if there is anything we can do for you, please feel free to call us.

Warm regards,

Testimonials from builders/Professionals:

Ron’s work is the most impressive that I have seen as an engineer and in my thirteen-year tenure on the Planning Commission. His ability to add or change a few small details and effect enormous improvement is remarkable.

Richard L. Pastore, Chairman
North Kingstown Planning Commission

As a builder and carpenter I'd like to commend you on your plans and the amount of detail and thought that is put into the plan set. Your plans are not only custom and architecturally pleasing to the eye but they are also designs that can work in the field. You truly understand what level of detail is required by builders and have a very good understanding of what is actually feasible to build.

Thank You,
Bob Baumann, President
Harmony Builders, Inc.

Working with Ron DiMauro’s plans and specifications is a relatively simple process. The plans are concise and clear, and leave little to the imagination. The sections and details are more than adequate to accomplish what the design intends, to create a classically styled house with some simple touches of elegance.
